Fabian Quoss Win The 2010 English Poker Open

Fabian Quoss is the 2010 English Poker Open champion pocketing £220,650. The first running of the EPO was held at DTD in Nottingham last year. The event this year was moved to the Palm Beach Casino in London with a reduced buy-in of £3,500 compared to £5,000 last year. Perhaps the event sponsors, Rake The Rake thought moving the event away from the best card room in Britain to London, plus reducing the buy-in would generate greater numbers. Their hopes though seem to have been dashed as numbers were down on last years. Come on Rake The Rake let’s see the event back at the UK Premier card room next year!

Quoss’s final hand against runner up Sebastian Crul was AQ against A5. Both players got their stack in preflop. Unfortunately for Crul the best hand won. Notable names who made the money included Liv Boree who finished 12th and Phil Laak who finished 18th.
