Im 2 tabling villian. Hes a big winner over a small sample (scandi) started off 2 tbling and like most thes matches he started off super aggro c/r alot and barrelling and is up a couple of stacks.

Hes a massive station though. He called me down with AQ as PF 3bettor on 3887 J vs my QJ after flop went c/c i bet turn and overbet river when i got there.

Onto the hand in question, i c/r flop because its adecent board to do so and hes c/betting too much and i cant call profitably since he barrels so light. Turn is reasonable card to continue but is river a jam? or a c/f? c/c doesnt seem so good.
I check the river to give missed spades or worse aces a chance to bet but when he shoves it makes life difficult. We need to be good 40% or so of the time to call, so, whats your move?

Villain is a nit playing 16/13 over a large sample, raise cbet 7%

I don't think he's the type to get out of line, so I think he has overpairs and sets a lot of the time and maybe a few strong draws.

My worry is that if he does have sets or overpairs, if we just call and hit, its going to be difficult to get the money in, whereas if we raise/get it in, we're likely to be a dog to most of his range.

Obviously folding isn't an option, so I'm just wondering what the best line is against this type of villain with this type of hand.

Villain is unknown playing 45/18/3 over just 80 hands

My image, if he's paying attention would be someone who is TAGgy pre but on the passive side post.

When he calls the flop, I think his range can still be pretty wide, so I don't think we can take much from it. However, when he calls the turn, I think his range can be narrowed to stuff like 77-JJ, 22 and 66 and perhaps just a few combo's of small-mid sc's.

On the river, its a typical spot where I really struggle. I know its a bet for sure but is it a bet/fold or bet/call. I'm utterly abysmal at bet/folding in spots like these and usually decided to check/call, which is probably pretty damned horrible in this spot but spots like these are the ones I'm struggling with most right now.

Hes potentially tilty although that doesnt apply here, doesnt fold to 3bets with anything connected or suited (F3B around 25% vs my 17% 3bet) doesn't seem to run big bluffs or make too many hero calls. Im 3betting literally my best hands as he doesnt f3b's and obv i flop gin. My river line is usually to jam for value even when the ace hits. However with a 4card str8 out there is it too thin? or should i c/f? I don't think he'd turn a made hand into a bluff so im not a fan of c/c river against this guy

CO is 27/23/6 with a 10% 3bet over 261 hands
sb is 21/20/2 with a 14% squeeze over 456 hands

I think I've been being too soft in these spots and just folding a lot but this seemed like a really good spot to 4bet/get it in but what bet sizing do we go with?

In real time, I struggled to find a number, so just jammed. Looking at it now, I still can't find a better option but it just seems crude to jam here, as I'm never likely to be in good shape if I get called but would making it something like $6 or so really make anyone go nuts with worse?

I think shoving makes my hand look a lot like AK, so perhaps it gets a few folds from AQ from time to time but this situation occurs quite regularly in the games I play, so would like to get myself more adept at dealing with the situation.

Forget I have AQ for a moment. What other hands would you jam here? Would you ever jam AA or KK? If we are jamming AA or KK, do we have to shove stuff like this to balance? What about TT/99/88? Is that a shove or a fold?

I don't think bluff shoving is ever a clever thing to do here, so I'm just really trying to figure out a value shoving range. Have I got the shove thing all wrong? Should I be 4betting smaller/calling it off with my entire range. I know its probably villain dependant to an extent but when someone squeezes to 15bb with effective stacks at 100bb I don't really know what to do in regard to betsizing.

playing live for the first time in a long time since my son was born about 8 months ago and it seems i'm not playing as agressively as i used to be, but still just about making some money on the side. 5 hands into the session i had this hand that i'd like to hear opinions on because at the time i thought i'd made the right choice but now thinking maybe i was just playing scared.

i'm sitting with £40 and not played a hand as yet (like i said it was 5 hands in)
and everyone else is sitting with between £30 and £60, although i haven't played with any of them before so no history.

i'm in the small blind with A:spade: A:heart:

UTG calls £1
MP calls £1
BUT calls £1

safe to say i had the best hand so far, and i'm not liking all these calls so i raise it up to £6.50.

BB calls, UTG calls and MP calls. maybe the raise wasn't large enough to start with but then i didn't want to bloat the pot too much. like i said before i didn't have any history with any of the players so i had to take some generic reads that they would be showing up with various broadway type hands and pocket pairs, certainly until i managed to find some more information on them. was that a mistake? generally that's what i do when i sit down at a table. if they're oldish or relatively smartly dressed then i automatically put them to a tight image and if they're young, hoodie wearing and generally know what a omputer is a think they're looser and more aggressive. generally i think that's right but is that an outdated theory. should i be looking at other things until i see some of their showdowns?

anyway back to it the flop comes J:club: 10:club: 9:diamond:

automatically i don't like this flop. this is fitting right into the wheelhouse of all those hands i thought i was being called by, but like the major donk i think i can be i automatically continuation bet making it £13.50. thinking back this was too weak wasn't it. i should have made it about £17 in retrospect but my thinking was to find out as much information as i could for the least amount of money.

BB calls the £13.50
UTG goes all in for £42
MP goes all in for £48

now i understand i've got the right odds to call, and if i had the A:club: in my hand then i'd be more inclined to call, but i don't. i just feel that there are far too many hands in these peoples ranges for a call to be the wrong choice but am i thinking too simplistically about this?

BB calls for £34.50

turn is the 2:spade:

river was the A:club:

BB had Q:spade: 9:spade:
UTG had K:club: 9:heart:
MP had J:spade: 2:heart:
i had the feeling i played it poorly when i saw the cards turned over, although i still keep coming back that my read on the percieved hand ranges was right to start with and i just got unlucky / outplayed on that flop. if it was slightly less co-ordinated then there's no doubt i'd have gone all in and picked up a very nice pot but was my thinking correct?

Went to casino tonight. Only game running 50nl. Buy in for £100 and run it upto 280 when following hand occurs.

Villain 1 - Old man, raised to £7 pre with AK but only £2.50 w/ AJ, plays very face up, although "floated (chased)" a gutshot on flop and turn and I caught him bluffing on river. (£400)

Villain 2 - Pretty decent I know he never tries to bluff me and is pretty cautious (called with 2nd nuts against me previously) however knows im very capable of barreling/float raising etc etc (£250c ish)

Anyway

Shorstack villain straddles to £1
I raise UTG to £4.50 w/ :Ts: :Th:
Villain 1 calls (from c/o)
Villain 2 calls (from sb)
Shortstack shoves £8.25 from straddle
I can only call, as do Villains numero uno and er two.

Flop is :Ah: :Tc:
:3h:
Villain 2 checks
I bet £10
Villain 1 calls
Villain 2 calls

Turn is :9c:

Villain 2 checks
I bet £45
Villain 1 calls
Villain 2 calls

River is :2c:

Villain A checks
I ?
