Un real. Truly Great in his day but he'll never make the 1st team for Man Utd now will he?

smart move if they structure the contract so its weighted toward performance bonuses and is short with possibly an extention clause
its not like they're going to be paying a fee for him other than possibly a signing bonus would be a much bigger gamble for a small squad team besides UTD need a poacher all these 35yard screamers into the top corner are getting a bit boring. six yard toe pokes ftw. |

Owen is still Emglands best striker IMO.
His injury problems are there for all to see but if he stays injury free for the season, he'll score a lot of goals and waltz back into the England squad. I wanted Liverpool to sign him again ![]() |

My own thoughts are he'll never again have that BLISTERING pace of his youth when he could just run past defenders for fun.
However if he could get fully fit ( a very big "if") he would be an excellent addition even to Man U's squad. Even now he is still a really good striker and would definitely get plenty of chances to score in MU's team.

All morning I thought this was a major piss-take by a journalist that's went too far, looks like it's real, wtf! He's not had a good game in about 6 years and he's so brittle it's unreal, Fergie finally lost it?

It's a no lose situation.
If it doesn't work out then it doesn't really matter as he didn't cost anything. If it does work out then it's great because he didn't cost anything. I'm pretty sure Fergie knows what he's doing. Anyway, at the very least he'd get us an extra 5 minutes injury time at the end of the game. |
